Bartosz Glowacki – 12.30 – 1pm
Bartosz Glowacki is one of the leading lights of a new generation of accordionists. Praised for creating “a poignant and distinctive sound world” (Fiona Maddocks, The Observer), Bartosz has performed in prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall and Royal Festival Hall and collaborated with celebrated musicians like Nigel Kennedy and Trevor Pinnock. Bartosz Glowacki is a City Music Foundation Artist.
SING Culture Mile, 1 – 1.30pm
Hear new choir SING Culture Mile perform as part Make Music Day event at London Wall Place. Led by choir leader Tori Longdon and made up of local workers and residents, songs include Cindi Lauper’s True Colours, The Turtles’ Happy Together, Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen, This is Me from the Greatest Showman and of course, Bring Me Sunshine!
All welcome – expect to be singing fun warm-ups, shaking some moves and having a good time!
Twinkling in the Firmament: Exploring the Celestial Soundscapes of the Glockenspiel, 1.45 – 2.15pm
Float across a shimmering galaxy of sound, where glockenspiel and voices communicate in unique tongues.
This 30-minute recital, alongside mezzo-soprano Rosie Middleton, presents percussionist Aidan Marsden’s fascination with the glockenspiel’s delicate textures, and both performers’ commitment to creating vibrant new works for their unique duo. Be curious.
