Gilmerton Singers

This small friendly chorus have a lively varied programme.

The Gilmerton Singers

The Gilmerton Singers are an open and friendly community choir who meet on Friday mornings at the Gilmerton Society Hall. We sing a diverse and varied repertoire of all genres; pop, jazz, classical, music theatre and folk songs from Scotland and around the world.
The choir started over 30 years ago when two local ladies met at The Gilmerton Community Centre and found they shared an interest in singing. From that initial meeting the Gilmerton Singers was born.  In 2011 the wonderful Nick Hayes agreed to be our Musical Director and broadened the choir’s repertoire and introduced harmony singing. In 2018 our current director Moira Morrison took over and with her energetic direction the choir continues to flourish. We are always open to new singers and there is no need to audition or to read music although Moira always encourages us to learn!
If you would like to come along and sing with us or would like more information about the choir please contact Muriel at muriel.connolly@sky.com
