How to… get an audience
Join us to learn how to spread the word about your Make Music Day UK event and get your community talking about it!
About this event
Make Music Day UK are running a series of workshops to help you to develop the skills that you need to bring music to your communities on 21 June. This workshop focuses on how to rally your community, get people talking about – and most importantly, coming to – your event on the 21 June. At the workshop, the Make Music Day team will also be joined by Chalise Zolezzi, Director of Public Relations and Social Media at The National Association of Music Merchants, who will be sharing her know-how with you as well!
As part of this workshop we will explore:
- Traditional approaches to marketing (i.e. top tips on press releases etc)
- Getting to grips with digital (i.e. ideas for social media, blogs and ‘text’ messaging)
- Going Guerrilla (i.e. low-cost, grassroots ways of spreading the word about your event)
The session will be a mixture of presentation, tips, pointers to resources and a discussion about how you can apply some of these techniques. There’ll also be time to talk about your ideas for Make Music Day 2021 and meet other people who are getting involved in creating the world’s largest DIY music festival.
This workshop is suitable for people who are new to marketing and those with some basic experience. It’s a great way to get some top tips on how to improve what you are already doing, as well as to get some new ideas.
We’d love it if you could join us!
