New Note Strummers Rock the Library

Classic songs played by a Brighton-based group for people in recovery from addiction

New Note Strummers, is a rocking guitar group based in Brighton for people in recovery from addiction. Our members have also faced mental health issues, homelessness, social isolation, prison and are at risk of suicide. 75% of our members ‘strongly agreed’ that attending Strummers strengthened their recovery from addiction.

Every week we choose two songs to learn as a group. We have complete beginners through to experienced guitarists but everyone is encouraged to learn new skills and have a good time. Over the past two years, Strummers have begun to play live concerts and have performed at Brighton Komedia, Brighton Disability Pride and elsewhere.
