People’s Piano Academy
The People’s Piano Academy aims to break down barriers to music for kids. There are 1,500 street pianos across the world. They all provide an incredible opportunity for people to sit down and play for free; but none of them yet helps children to actually learn to play. We are starting the world’s first People’s Piano Academy at Herne Hill’s Station Hall, to bring children the life-changing chance to learn music, regardless of ability to pay.
Station Hall, Herne Hill
Sitting vacant for years, un-used and un-noticed, Station Hall has come back to life as a completely unique community centre, right at the heart of Herne Hill. A warm and welcoming place that brings people together, a place that creates a spark, a place that sets ripples in motion, a place for everybody in today’s fractured world.
