Pill Festival Band at St George’s Bristol
An enjoyable outdoor (weather permitting!) late morning performance by members of the Pill Festival Band
Our Orchestra was formed in 2010 evolving from the first Pill Music Festival and has been growing ever since. We perform regularly at Pill village events and further afield.
We are a mixed ability orchestra of more than 40 players of all ages and all are welcome to come and join us whether you are a beginner or more experienced or maybe you used to play an instrument and want to play again.
We want anyone, of any age to have the opportunity to play music; we have a range of musical instruments for people to try and group tuition is provided for beginners of all ages as they progress towards the performance section.
One of our particular passions is to encourage youngsters to take up an instrument and discover the joy of playing music.
Rehearsals are every Monday (term time) at Pill Memorial Club, 6 – 9pm. One hour for each section (beginner, training and performance) plus some overlap time so that the sections get the chance to play together and support each other. Our rehearsals are sociable and fun where music skills are shared and musicianship grows.
