Proms in the Pit

Outdoor music concert featuring primary school children making music

There is an outdoor family/community picnic followed by children aged 5-11 years showing off their musical talents. The theme is Rock and Pop this year and it’s the third year of this annual two-schools concert put on by Hempnall Primary School and Shelton with Hardwick Community School. Children will sing different songs from the Rock and Pop theme. Those who learn the piano, violin, p-bone(baby trombones) and guitars will also perform. We will also be joined by Junk Orchestra as the children from both schools have been working with the company to produce pieces of music using recycled materials only – they are awesome! We will also be joined by Long Stratton High School whose choir will perform, and lastly our very own Hempnall Community Choir – made up of parents, grandparents and children from both schools will also perform their own version of ABBA songs! See @SHHSFederation for our Twitter feed.
