Are you ready for the 21 June? We will be celebrating Make Music Day online with our special event, Rural Fest 2020 which has been put together by our crack team of NYMAZ young ambassadors.
The line up is looking pretty great, to make sure you don’t miss out on anything we’ve popped it here for you to download: Rural Fest run of day FINAL

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the exciting activities we have in store for you – just visit this page on the day to get involved with our live-streamed events. Below you will find interviews and workshops which have already taken place – go on have a look!

  • Lots of live music!
We will be streaming both live and pre-recorded performances from over 10 different artists across the country. Our line-up of musicians will be creating music that contains flavours of folk, indie, jazz and classical. Throughout the day these mini-gigs will be beamed directly to you, as if you’re really there! So, sit back, relax and let the joy of live music flow through you!
  • Interviews and talks!
Not only will you be stimulated by music, but also through artist interviews and our panel discussion. Our dedicated team of journalists are delighted to bring you a series of pieces that explore our theme of rural. Our panel discussion will host three musicians: Nicky BrayLuna Bec and Les Goldman, who will be dissecting what it is like being a musician during lockdown, and how music fits into a digital landscape.
  • Workshops and interactive opportunities!
We encourage all of our viewers to get active during Rural Fest 2020, whether it’s our morning yoga class run by Ebru Evrim or our interactive DJ/dance session hosted by Fresh Junk – we want you to get involved! There will be a range of classes to suit all ages from our early years musical story – ‘A Walk in the Wild Wood’ to live music classes for primary by Rhythm Time Wharfedale, Craven and Bradford, and also interactive fun instrument-making tutorials!
    • And wait…there’s more!
Make Music Day 2020 is an international celebration of music, so there are plenty of wonderful things to get familiar with. For example, Make Music Day are running a competition for a chance to win a £150 MusicRoom voucher! All you need to do is perform your finest rendition of the Make Music Day theme song ‘Bring Me Sunshine’ – in whatever style, genre or arrangement you want. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to make more music happen, for more information click here
    • Nope, still not all!
We have so much more to share with you on the 21st of June, there will be something for everyone at #ruralfest2020. So, we hope you’ll join us as we celebrate music – rural style! We would love to see what you get up to during the day and also hear what you’re loving throughout so don’t forget to tag us on @NYMAZmusic, @ruralfest2020 and use the hashtags #ruralfest2020 #makemusicday2020.

“THE LINE-UP IS GOING TO BE SO VIBRANT AND COLOURFUL, JUST LIKE WHAT THE SUMMER SHOULD BE, FULL OF BEAUTIFUL SOULS THAT ARE SHARING DAZZLING PIECES OF ART WITH US. THERE WILL BE NO TIME FOR BOREDOM DURING THE DAY WITH PUPPETEERING, TALKS, LIVE MUSIC, MEDITATION… THERE’S SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. WE (THE TEAM) ARE ALL LOOKING FORWARD TO IT AND SHARING THIS EXPERIENCE WITH YOU.”
