Empire Rochdale – “Rochdale’s Original Music Venue”.
The date of opening would appear to be 1904. The face of the building was designed to reflect the Gothic architectural style of our beautiful Rochdale Town Hall (1864, by W H Crossland of Leeds). Our Gracie Fields made her first ever stage performance here. The Empire venue stands on Packer Street in Town Hall Square and to date is still the most attended live music venue in the town. Hosting live performances every Friday and Saturday evenings from 6pm until 4am.
