Junkophonics

Host a homemade found object instrument-making party! The experts have graced us with videos and printable instructions for 7 instruments, all you have to do is gather the materials (for as many or few options as you want!). We suggest partnering with a music hub, school, library, museum etc, but several of these instruments (like the Diddley Bow) are quite fun for adults too!

This Make Music Day, join Bash the Trash Environmental Arts in raising global awareness about household waste pollution by building fun instruments from found objects!

The performers and educators of Bash the Trash offered their innovative designs for wind, percussion and string instruments for an exciting new approach to building instruments from everyday refuse. These amazing instruments tackle issues of waste and offer us an opportunity to look at ‘trash’ in a new way.

Show off homemade instruments and making music together on 21 June 2021!
