Make Music Day is this Wednesday! If you want to celebrate in the UK and you are not already part of an event, use our interactive listings map to find events near you. We have all sorts of FREE concerts and performances going on in towns and cities throughout the country.
In this post we have picked out some highlights in London.
London Bridge: Performers will entertain commuters throughout the day, and there’s a singalong between 5.30pm and 6pm with The Choir with No Name. Plus head over to Redcross Garden at lunchtime with your ukulele for an alfresco strum-along with Ukulele Wednesdays’ own Lorraine Bow!
Westminster: Chamber trio Oboi perform in Westminster Music Library at 6pm.
City of London: There’s a special Big City Sing event in Paternoster Square at lunchtime – prepare to be amazed!
Embankment: The bandstand at Victoria Embankment Gardens will host live performers between 12.30-1.30. Bring your lunch and enjoy the show.
Also look out for: Various bands playing at The Beehive, Kender & Grove Park Singers in Deptford Lounge, the Culpeper poets with live music in Islington, and lots of open rehearsals, Open Mic nights and more.
I hope you can make it to some of our fabulous Make Music Day events. Don’t forget to use the listings map to find other events near you. Meanwhile, keep us up to date with your Make Music Day activities by tagging #MakeMusic and @MakeMusicDayUK in your social media posts.
