Make Music Day is this Wednesday! If you want to celebrate in the UK and you are not already part of an event, use our interactive listings map to find events near you. We have all sorts of concerts and performances going on in towns and cities throughout the country.
We’ve picked out some highlights in Southern England, East of England and Wales
WALES
Cardiff: Our flagship event in Wales features the intrepid Ukulele Wolves and Making Music member choirs who will tour the city of Cardiff by bus, bringing pop up performances to various locations throughout the city.
Also look out for the Morristown Ladies’ Choir, holding an open rehearsal in Swansea
SOUTH WEST ENGLAND
Yeovil: Phoenix Voices give a concert in the Performing Arts Library in Yeovil
Newquay: Get into the summer solstice spirit with music, bbq and surf at Towan Headland in Cornwall.
Swanage: On the Dorset coast, Swanage Town Band will entertain the town with a big Swanage singalong.
Also look out for a night of folk performances at the Yew Tree Inn in Clifford’s Mesne, Gloucestershire,
EAST AND SOUTH EAST OF ENGLAND
Norfolk: A whole host of performers line up to play at the Norfolk & Norwich Millennium Library, Norfolk & Norwich Hospital and Chapelfield Bandstand.
Farnham: Join Farnham Youth Choir at Lamb and Lion Yard for a rush-hour performance of some choral favourites
Redhill: A special Midsummer listen, sing and sign concert in Redhill Memorial Park with The Include Choir and Vocal Dimension Chorus
Watford: Local bands Voyageurs Ambassadors of Music USA Star of Texas and The Iconics grace the beautiful period bandstand in Cassiobury Park.
Caterham: The North Downs Community Orchestra perform in the Church Walk Shopping Centre and invite all-comers to their regular rehearsal
Also look out for classical recitals at Benslow Music Trust and Esher Parish Church, and a whole heap of open rehearsals.
