St Mary Redcliffe Church is one of Bristol’s best known and well loved large parish churches with a history dating back 800 years. It is located about 5 minutes walk from Temple Meads Station and just outside the main city centre boundary to the south. There are some metred parking facilities nearby, but these are limited and can get full. A small amount of parking may be available at the church for small groups of performers.
The church is offered as a performing venue for choirs and instrumental ensembles for Make Music Day 2019. It’s probably best suited to acoustic performance rather than amplified instruments/voice, as the church has good reverberation. So choirs, small instrumental ensembles are welcomed, but other offers can be considered too.
There is a 6ft grand piano which can be used – the performing space is in the ‘crossing’ of the church. There’s a cafe which is open 10am-3pm with lots of other places nearby. Toilet facilities are a bit limited but adequate.
