Drake Music Scotland – Digital Orchestra: Youth Edinburgh

Drake Music Scotland are the nation’s leading organisation providing music opportunities to disabled people and those with additional support needs across Scotland. Following the success of a pilot project as a youth version of their acclaimed Digital Orchestra, Digital Orchestra:Youth was launched in 2023 in three locations in Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh. Digital Orchestra Youth aims to create communities and youth orchestra environments for disabled young people.

On the 21st June 2023, Digital Orchestra Youth in Edinburgh which rehearses weekly at Castlebrae Community High School in Craigmillar will host an open rehearsal at Craigmillar Library/East Neighbourhood Centre from 11am-11.45am. Young people from Castlebrae play digital instruments such as iPad, Cmpsr, Roli Blocks and other music technologies to create their own and individual sound. Audience will be able to watch closely how some of these technologies work, and how music is made.
