On the 21st June each year, the whole of the UK rings out with live music. Anyone, anywhere, any age, professional or amateur, jazz or rock, classical or folk, choirs, brass bands, rock groups, DJs – however people make music, they can make a welcome contribution to Make Music Day.
We believe it is important that people who make Make Music Day what it is are able to understand the impact that the event has, how many people it reaches, who is involved in organising it, and what happened around the country. With this in mind, we produce an ‘Annual Review’ which features key facts and figures and some key highlights from Make Music Day. We hope that this information helps you to understand how what you do contributes to this nationwide celebration of music making, and in turn, how the UK’s activity contributes to the world’s largest DIY music festival.
