Our friends at UK Music have launched a brand new partnership with CreateBritain that supports college and university students to get their music out to the world. Director of Education and Skills at UK Music Oliver Morris explains more.
“We at UK Music are delighted to be sharing and showcasing music created by students at our Music Academic Partnership members to celebrate Make Music Day UK 2023.
We represent the UK’s music industry and the success of that industry depends both upon the fantastic talent of the songwriters and artists, but also of the dedication and support many receive through their development from our education partners. Our Music Academic Partnership was created to link educators and the music industry for the benefit of all.
The tracks we are sharing today celebrate their commitment and talent and showcase a fantastic cross-section of the work being created during study at college and university. Many of the pieces will have been submitted for end-of-year assessments and / or performed live in front of fellow students and tutors. All will have been crafted over many hours as the artists hone their skills and bring an idea, a sound, a lyric, a melody to life as a coherent and completed piece of music.

Being able to share this exciting selection of music on such a cool interface developed by CreateBritain – our partner in developing the showcase opportunity and leading light in support of those working in the creative industries – is a real pleasure. We also want to thank Make Music Day UK as supporter and felt that the fantastic open and engaging day that celebrates music across the globe was the perfect day to launch this on.
We hope you enjoy the selections and would like to thank the artists who have provided their College / University compositions for us all to enjoy!
