Calling all libraries – Get involved in the Get It Loud In Libraries film premiere now!
From 2005-2021 Get It Loud in Libraries has scored a unique groove in the fabric of library history by bringing the best emerging and established artists to play gigs in libraries across the UK. To celebrate the last 16 years of rock’n’roll in libraries, Get It Loud In Libraries are producing a special behind-the-scenes documentary for Make Music Day UK 2021 that charts their unforgettable misadventures.
From Adele to Florence + The Machine, Jessie J to Disclosure, Young Fathers to Marina And the Diamonds and Ellie Goulding to The Vaccines, Get It Loud In Libraries has brought some fab acts to large and small, new and older libraries in towns and cities up and down the country. Over the years, they have championed libraries as spaces for live music, as important cultural venues and as key parts of their communities and this film is a celebration of all of this.
To help bring the short documentary to as many audiences as possible, Get It Loud In Libraries has teamed up with Make Music Day UK to deliver a global premiere on 21 June 2021.
We are looking for as many libraries to get involved as possible by hosting their own premiere screening by doing one or more of the following on 21 June 2021:
- Organise a small film screening in your library at a designated time on the 21 June 2021
- Premiere the film on your social media at 2pm on 21 June 2021
To take part in this initiative and be part of this exciting film premiere, then all you need to do is register your interest via the event form here by 10 June 2021 (be sure to tick the ‘Project: Get it Loud in Libraries’ box on the form), and we will send you instructions about what to do next. We are aiming to have 100+ libraries involved… so help us spread the word and share this call far and wide!
