WHAT HAPPENED IN 2021…
THE VIRTUAL BIG SING ON 21 JUNE

MUSIC RESOURCES
Charanga is a world-leading music teaching and learning platform used in 62 countries. It hosts a vast library of songs and we were delighted to offer some of these for free on Make Music Day. If you’re new to Charanga, simply start a 30-day complimentary trial to explore the platform in full. There’s no obligation to subscribe afterwards and they won’t take any payment details.
SINGING THE MAKE MUSIC DAY ANTHEM
The Make Music Day anthem for 2021 was Stand By Me, kindly supported by Sony Music Publishing and Hal Leonard Europe. Free resources and arrangements of the song, including a range of different instruments, ensembles and choirs, were available in advance for practicing. Others created their own arrangement to premiere on Make Music Day, and we also be ran a song competition for the best cover version of Stand by Me.
JUNKOPHONICS
On Make Music Day, many schools joined Bash the Trash Environmental Arts in raising global awareness about household waste pollution by building fun instruments from found objects!
